What is Day Out With Thomas?
Day Out With Thomas is a family event that offers children and their grownups the opportunity to ride with classic storybook friend Thomas the Tank Engine™ at heritage railroads nationwide. Parents, grandparents and siblings join their aspiring engineers in the fun. The Day Out With Thomas experience will engineer miles of smiles for the whole family and introduce a new generation to the timeless excitement of railroading.

Who is Thomas the Tank Engine?
Since Thomas the Tank Engine left the depot more than 60 years ago, this Really Useful Engine and his Island of Sodor friends have chugged their way into the hearts of preschoolers and grownups worldwide. Based on The Railway Series of classic stories authored by a father who loved trains and wanted a shared experience with his son, Thomas & Friends™ is a rite of passage that inspires the imagination while teaching the life lessons of friendship, exploration and cooperation.

How much are tickets?

Tickets are $18.00 per person for anyone two years old or older

How can I purchase tickets?

Who requires a ticket?

Anyone two years old and over must have a ticket to enter the park. Children under two do not need a ticket but are required to sit on an adult's lap during the train trip.

What is included in the ticket price?
A ticket for Day Out With Thomas includes the train ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, as well as a variety of Thomas & Friends themed entertainment, including Storytelling and Video Viewing, Temporary Tattoos of Island of Sodor friends, and an Imagination Station with Arts & Crafts and more. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt™, the Chairman of the Railway on the Island of Sodor.

Are discount tickets available?
There are no discount tickets available for Day Out With Thomas.

How will I receive my tickets?
If purchased three weeks or more in advance of the event, guests will receive their tickets in the mail. Guests that purchase tickets closer to the event date can pick up their tickets at Will Call the day of the event.

Are there any refunds?
There will be no refunds or exchanges.

Will Thomas the Tank Engine be there?
Thomas the Tank Engine has traveled all the way from the Island of Sodor and has arrived Right on Time to take a ride with you and your family.

 Will Sir Topham Hatt be there?
Yes, Sir Topham Hatt will take time away from his busy schedule as Chairman of the Railway on the Island of Sodor to meet and take pictures with guests.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

It is highly recommended that you purchase tickets in advance. All seats on each train are reserved. While there may be tickets available at the gate on any particular day, there is no guarantee that they will be available every day.

What time does the train depart?

Trains depart every 40 minutes, beginning at 9:30 a.m. The last departure of the day is at 4:10 p.m.

What are the box office/will call office hours?

The box office and will call office are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on event days only.

What are Edaville USA's hours during the Day Out With Thomas events?

Edaville USA will be open between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

What time should I arrive?

It is recommended that you arrive at least 45 minutes before your scheduled departure (1/2 hour if you're on the 9:30 departure). Please remember that all rides and activities close at 5:00 p.m. If your departure time is later in the day, you may want to get to Edaville USA early to participate in these activities before you ride the train.

Where do I catch the train?

Guests board the train from the platform area between the Freight House Cafe and Whistle Stop Snacks.

How long is the train ride?
The train ride is approximately 25 minutes long.

Are you limited to just one train ride?
There is one train ride per ticket.

Where is Edaville USA located?

Edaville USA is located in South Carver, Massachusetts, about 10 miles southwest of Plymouth, 8 miles southeast of Middleboro, and 8 miles north of Cape Cod.

How can I get there?

From Interstate 495 - Take exit 2, then follow Route 58 north for 3 1/2 miles to Rochester Road. Make a left on Rochester Road, then a right on Pine Street. The on-site parking lot is on the right.

From Route 3 - Take exit 7, Route 44 west. Follow Route 44 west 6 1/2 miles to Route 58. Take Route 58 south approximately 8 miles to Rochester Road. Turn right on Rochester Road and right on Pine Street. The on-site parking lot is on the right.

If using a GPS system for directions, use Pine Street, Carver, Massachusetts, 02330.

Is there parking available on site?
There is free parking at Edaville USA. On extremely busy days, the use of a satellite parking area may be necessary. Shuttle service will be provided between the remote parking lot and the main gate.

What else is available at Edaville USA?

In addition to the train ride, Edaville USA has many other amusement rides, indoor and outdoor play areas, live entertainment, and much more, ALL OF WHICH ARE INCLUDED IN THE DAY OUT WITH THOMAS TICKET PRICE.

Are there concession/food services available at Edaville USA?

Edaville USA has many concession areas, including the Freight House Cafe, Whistle Stop Snacks and Ice Cream Caboose. These establishments offer a variety of different foods, including salads, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and much more.

What if there is inclement weather?
Day Out With Thomas events take place rain or shine.

Are cameras allowed?
Absolutely! Guests are encouraged to capture their Day Out With Thomas memories for their photo album.

Are strollers permitted?
Day Out With Thomas is a family event that welcomes guests of all ages. There is even a designated area for “stroller parking” during the train ride.

Is Edaville accessible to the handicapped?

Edaville's grounds and buildings, and the caboose on the train ride, are accessible by wheelchair. Guide dogs for the handicapped are allowed at all times.

Does Edaville USA allow pets?

Edaville USA does not allow pets, and requests that people refrain from leaving pets locked in their cars during their visit. Guide dogs for the handicapped are allowed at all times.

Are there hotels and restaurants in the surrounding area?

There are many hotels and restaurants in the towns of Plymouth and Middleboro. You can click on the "Local Information" boxcar below or contact the local Chambers of Commerce for more information. There are no hotels or motels in the Town of Carver.
