The Camarasaurus gets its name because of its hollow, chambered vertebrae. Evidence suggests that these dinosaurs would go from the size of and egg, to the size of a soccer ball, to full grown in just 8 years! Some scientists believe that these dinosaurs swallowed stones called gastroliths, to aid in the digestion of the tough plant materials that they were so fond of. The Camarasaurus lived about 150 million years ago!
